Snorkelling with Bluefin Tuna – A One-of-a-Kind Malta Experience 

This is one of the most unusual water activities available anywhere in the Mediterranean — snorkelling alongside over 1,000 bluefin tuna in open-water pens just 5 miles off the Maltese coast. Available only in Malta, this 1.5-hour experience departs from Mellieha Bay and is completely unlike any other tour we offer.

How It Works

Depart from Mellieha Bay Tunny Net Jetty at 9:00 AM for a 15-minute boat ride to the tuna pens, located 5 miles offshore. Once there, you’ll spend approximately 1 hour in the water swimming alongside over 1,000 bluefin tuna in their enclosure. The fish are large, fast, and surprisingly graceful at close range.

Keep an eye out for dolphins on the crossing — sightings are common, and the photo opportunities are spectacular.
